Buckeyes Carlos Hyde, Braxton miller named to Big Ten All-Conference

    Carlos Hyde, Braxton Miller and the Ohio State football team hauled in the first of its Big Ten Conference hardware.

    On Monday, the Big Ten announced that Miller was named the conference’s Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year and that Hyde was named the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year. Both Miller and Hyde were first-team all-conference selections as voted by the coaches and the media.

    The junior quarterback and senior running back were two of ten Buckeyes to earn All-Big Ten honors, which were announced Monday afternoon on the Big Ten Network.

    St. John’s Jesuit graduate Jack Mewhort of Ohio State was a first-team selection at offensive line by the media and a second-team selection by the coaches.

    Michigan had five players named to the all-conference teams, including left tackle Taylor Lewan, who was named the Rimington-Pace offensive lineman of the year; and Devin Funchess, who was named the Kwalick-Clark Tight End of the Year.
