Ottawa Hills grad, Michigan State kicker Geiger named All-American
1/6/2014Michigan State kicker Michael Geiger, an Ottawa Hills High School grad, was named to the freshman All-American team selected by the Football Writers Association of America and announced today.
Geiger finished second on the Spartans in scoring with 81 points. He connected on 15-of-16 field-goal attempts, including his final 13 in a row, with a long of 49 yards against Iowa.
The 5-8, 186-pound Geiger also made 36-of-38 extra points and ranked fourth in the Big Ten in scoring among kickers with 7.4 points per game.
