DETROIT -- Riley Sheahan's second-period goal helped lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens tonight at Joe Louis Arena.
Henrik Zetterberg's power-play goal at 12:27 of the first period gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead, and Detroit took a 2-0 lead on Sheahan's goal at 11:48 of the second.
A minute later, Brendan Gallagher cut Detroit's lead to 2-1 before Niklas Kronwall gave the Red Wings a 3-1 lead with less than four minutes left in the second.
Gustav Nyquist scored Detroit's final goal with 1:19 left in the third.
Jonas Gustavsson made 26 saves for the Red Wings and Carey Price made 20 saves for the Canadiens.
