The last time Bowling Green met Western Michigan in football, the Falcons rallied for a 41-27 win.
Since then, the two programs have gone in opposite directions. Beginning with 2016, the Broncos are 23-9 through this week, including a Cotton Bowl appearance in 2016. Bowling Green has gone 7-23, including a 1-5 start to this season.
Things aren’t going to get any easier for the Falcons, who are facing the Mid-American Conference best offense this weekend.

LETTING IT FLY: The Broncos lead the MAC with 472.2 yards per game, and they have the top quarterback and running back in the conference. LeVante Bellamy has rushed for 531 yards and four TDs.
Quarterback Jon Wassink has 1,658 passing yards and 14 TDs while completing 121-of-194 passes. Jaden Reed has 32 receptions for 466 yards and six TDs, and D’Wayne Eskridge comes in with 19 catches for 463 yards and a pair of scores.

ON A ROLL: Western started the season 0-2, including a 49-3 loss at Michigan. Since then, the Broncos have torn through four straight wins, averaging 42 points per game. In their last two wins, both in MAC contests, Wassink has thrown for 674 yards and six TDs.
RIDING ON DOEGE’S BACK: Bowling Green sophomore Jarret Doege is third in the MAC with 1,485 passing yards. He has 14 touchdowns while completing 142-of-227 passes. In last week’s loss, he threw for 289 yards and three TDs.
Scott Miller leads the Falcons with 434 receiving yards and four TDs, and Quintin Morris has 317 yards and a team-high five TDs.

LAST TIME THEY MET: BGSU was riding a six-game winning streak into their November, 2015 meeting, and the Broncos nearly ended it. With the game tied at 27-27 in the fourth quarter, BG running back Travis Greene scored two times to snap the tie. Greene finished with 170 yards and three scores, and Matt Johnson had 269 yards and three TDs.
