Sydney Lambert, shown in a game earlier this season, scored 16 points to lead Bowling Green State University, but the Falcons fell 81-57 to Kent State University Wednesday.

In the first meeting with Kent State, the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team managed to shut down Jordan Korinek, who leads the Mid-American Conference in scoring.

Not this time. Korinek scored an efficient 36 points as the Golden Flashes routed the Falcons 81-57 on Wednesday night.

Korinek, who led the MAC in scoring at 20.1 points per game entering the contest, was held to just six shots and seven points during a 60-50 loss Jan. 17 at the Stroh Center.

But the Falcons couldn’t replicate that defensive performance on Wednesday, when she knocked down 12 of 18 field-goal attempts and 10 of 11 free throws. She also had nine rebounds.

Sydney Lambert led the Falcons (10-11, 2-8 MAC) with 16 points. Kennedy Williams added 10 points.

Bowling Green shot just 28.3 percent from the field (17 of 60), which  included 25 percent in 3-pointers (8 of 32) in a game where the Falcons trailed 29-11 after the first quarter.

Kent State (11-11, 4-6) shot 47.2 percent from the field, making 25 of 53 shots.
