Girls basketball: Brown, Perrysburg beat Central Catholic

PERRYSBURG 51, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 40

Ashlynn Brown scored 17 points to lead the Yellow Jackets, who never trailed after surging to a 17-9 halftime lead on Saturday in girls basketball action.

Maverick Delp scored 14 for the Fighting Irish, who slipped to 8-2.

Taylor Besgrove, pictured in a game last season, scored 24 points for Cardinal Stritch Saturday in a 38-35 win over Northwood.

CARDINAL STRITCH 38, NORTHWOOD 35

Taylor Besgrove scored 24 points to power the hosts to a Toledo Area Athletic Conference win. The Cardinals led 23-21 after three quarters.

Northwood was led by Olivia Randall’s 15 points.

SWANTON 45, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 34

SWANTON — Cydney Christiansen scored 15 points and Haley Nelson 12 as Swanton (7-4) won at home.

For the Eagles (9-3), Ella Zabowrowski finished with 12 points and Naomi Jones added 11 more.

GIBSONBURG 47, EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 41

Becca Morelock scored 18 points, leading the Golden Bears (3-7, 3-4 TAAC) to a road victory.

Olivia Pollock led the Warriors (2-7, 1-6) with 16 points.

DELTA 56, STRYKER 40

DELTA — Abbie Freeman scored 19 points, Maddie Mattimore 14, and Braelyn Wymer 10 as the Panthers won.

Emma Grimes and Haley Doehrmann both finished with 12 for Stryker.
