Girls basketball: Schofield's heroics lift Anthony Wayne over Maumee

Northview 53, Springfield 45

In Northern Lakes League play, Alexa Borgerson led three Wildcats players in double figures with 18 points in a girls basketball victory Friday night.

Anika Sweeney had 13 points for Northview, and Kacee Baumhower added 10.

Cierra Harris scored 19 for the Blue Devils.

Anthony Wayne 36, Maumee 33

Samantha Schofield drained a 3-point shot just before the buzzer sounded to spark the host Generals’ win. Alix Carter (11 points) and Schofield (10) fueled a balanced attack.

Lauren Johnson scored 16 for the Panthers.

Perrysburg 83, Bowling Green 23

BOWLING GREEN — Ashlynn Brown scored 19 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (8-2, 7- 0 NLL) to a one-sided triumph. Nadeen Jemaa added 11 points and Addie Williams 10.

Makai Ruffin led the Bobcats (2-8, 0-7) with seven points.

Elmwood 73, Fostoria 42

BLOOMDALE — Zoe Shank scored 42 points to help Elmwood improve to 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the Northern Buckeye Conference.

J’Breonn Jones scored 14 to lead the Redmen, who trailed 38-11 at the half.

Woodmore 62, Rossford 38

Brooke Allen scored 18 points and Claire Rothert added 14 as the Wildcats won in Rossford. Megan Dunne had 15 to lead the Bulldogs.

Eastwood 51, Otsego 47

PEMBERVILLE — Hannah Lines (18 points) and Jamie Schmeltz (17) proved to be a potent one-two punch for Eagles (7-4, 4-2 NBC).

Otsego (5-5, 3-4) was led by Brynne Lines, who netted 16 points, and Kylie Brinkman, who scored 15. Holly Roe chipped in with 13.

Lake 62, Genoa 35

GENOA — Kortney Ellison and Mya Staczek both scored 13 points, Hayley St. John added 12, and Kayla Bekier 10 as the visiting Flyers won.

Tatum Neumann led the Comets with 11 points.

Patrick Henry 60, Wauseon 38

WAUSEON — Faith Frania scored 11 points to go with 10 points from Audrey Sonnenberg as the Patriots (4-5, 1-0 NWOAL) cruised to the Northwest Ohio Athletic League win.

Rylee Campbell led the Indians (2-9, 0-3) with 10 points.

Delta 43, Swanton 41

SWANTON — The Panthers (10-0, 1-0 NWOAL) grabbed a road win to remain perfect. Maddie Mattimore scored 13 and Abby Freeman added 12.

For the Bulldogs (6-4, 0-1), Haley Nelson led with nine. Swanton came back from a 33-22 deficit after three quarters to almost tying the game at the buzzer.

Bryan 40, Liberty Center 38

LIBERTY CENTER — Allye Minor scored 12 points as the Golden Bears got the road victory. Meghan Skeens scored 12 points and Kenzie Detmer 10 for the Tigers.

Oak Harbor 59, Port Clinton 23

OAK HARBOR — Logan Harris scored 19 points, Sophia Eli added 12, and the Rockets won at home. Delayna Laurel led Port Clinton with seven.

Hicksville 34, Holgate 31

HOLGATE — Addison Bergman scored 13 points as Hicksville won. Madilyn Hohenberger led the Tigers with 14.

Bedford 33, Dexter 22

DEXTER, Mich. — In the Southeastern Conference, Lynsey Spotts led the Mules (6-2) with nine points and Koryn King scored eight. Dexter (4-3) got 11 from Jenna Corcoran.
