Clay High School alumna Alyssa Heintschel has been named one of two recipients of the 2018 Bob James Memorial Scholarship Award by the Mid-American Conference.

Heintschel played soccer at Ball State from 2014-17, setting a Cardinals school record for wins with 35 and twice earning first-team All-MAC honors.

In the classroom, Heintschel graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University in May, 2018, with a degree in both chemistry and premedical preparation, as well as a minor in biology, with a 4.00 GPA.
