City League Roundup: Scott stays perfect, beating Southview

Perrion Jones ran 18 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and Scott improved to 3-0 with Friday’s 24-21 win over Southview.

Jones’ touchdowns covered 6 and 55 yards. Darnell Thomas added a 1-yard plunge, and Carvell Giles recovered a fumble and returned it 40 yards for a score for Scott (3-0).

Brayton Schmidt led Southview (1-2), completing 14 of 27 passes for 238 yards and two scores. One to Bailey Wietrvkowski covered 21 passes, and another to Trevor Kruskynski was from 24 yards. Nick Harshman had a 5-yard scoring run.

Northview 24, Bowsher 6

Northview jumped out to a 24-0 lead and used a balanced attack (117 yards rushing, 98 passing) to earn a home victory.

Deante Armour scored on a 22-yard run for the Wildcats (2-1). Trent Simms added a 1-yard plunge, then later found Noah Gfell for a 17-yard touchdown pass.

Luke Pawlak also booted a 31-yard field goal.

The touchdown for Bowsher (1-2) came on a 9-yard pass from Daniel Barret to Tevin Gregory.

Liberty Center 45, Woodward 13

Jarrett Krugh threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Carl Yaney and a 34-yard strike to Conner Sonnenberg as Liberty Center won on the road.

Orry Killam added a 23-yard field goal, and Aaron Shafer and Zach Bowers both ran for scores. The Tigers also scored twice on defense, on a fumble recovery in the end zone and on a 60-yard interception return by Connor Keller.

Dominique McClain led the Polar Bears (0-3) with a 10-yard touchdown run and a 73-yard strike to Kevon Harper.

Swanton 25, Rogers 24

The Bulldogs won on a two-point conversion run by Devon Crouse with 1:45 left. The Rams had failed on each of their four touchdowns to make extras points either by kick, pass, or run.

Christian Warren was 11 of 15 passing for 207 yards and three touchdowns for the Rams. He also had an 11 yard scoring. run. Scoring on the three passes were Tracy Eubanks, Jon-Paul Paskar and Aaron Johnson.
