FREMONT — Grant Stepanic and Chase Harrison each had three touchdowns to lead Fremont St. Joseph (2-1) to a 50-34 nonconference victory over Toledo Christian (1-2).

Stepanic had TD runs of 15 and 17 yards, and returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown. Quarterback Harrison had touchdowns runs of 1, 5, and 11 yards for Fremont St. Joseph.

Trevor Wensink had two touchdowns for Toledo Christian, an 8-yard TD run and a 45-yard interception return.

Wensink was injured in the second quarter and did not return.

Max Dominguez had 24 rushes for 120 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles.

Hilltop 6, Holgate 2

WEST UNITY — That Cadets got all they needed for a victory when Connor Schlosser connected with Christian McKinney for a 16-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

The Tigers’ only points came on a safety in the fourth quarter.

Evergreen 54, Ottawa Hills 0

Hunter Van Wert returned the opening kick for a touchdown, one of four times he scored in the game, as the Vikings scored 40 points in the first quarter to run away with the win.

Van Wert had 101 yards on 5 carries, which included scoring runs of 50, 16, and 35 yards, to go with his 73-yard kickoff return touchdown. Quarterback Jack Etue completed 8 of 9 passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns for Evergreen (2-1).

Evergreen held the Green Bears (0-3) to 61 total yards.
