Two days after his team lost at Nebraska, Craig Roh described what Michigan needs to do in order to win the Big Ten.

"All we can do right now is win these four games and that's all the power we have," the defensive end said. "Everything else is up to a higher power."

Has it come to asking for divine intervention?

The loss at Nebraska cost Michigan the inside track on a berth in December's Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis. The Wolverines need not only the help of themselves but the help of others. Charity, especially in major college football, is about as common as an American Express Black Card being swiped at Target. Though these are tough economic times ... yet something tells me Michigan State or Iowa aren't exactly thinking, "let's get this win over Nebraska for Michigan!"

The Wolverines are ready to kneel at the feet of the college football gods for the rest of November. They'll ask for help in winning a title. They'll probably also ask for a stronger running game. Or better health for QB Denard Robinson.

Yet while a little brown jug is at stake this week at Minnesota, it's possible there are a few other trinkets — rabbit's feet, elephant figurines and rosaries, in particular — scattered somewhere inside Schembechler Hall.
