    What to know

    ■ Ohio State has outscored Rutgers 219-24 in the series' four-game history. In the past two years alone, the Buckeyes have outscored the Scarlet Knights 114-0 in consecutive shutouts.

    ■ A victory gives Ohio State its 900th win in program history. The Buckeyes would join Michigan as the only schools with at least 900 wins in college football. The Wolverines have 943 victories, while Texas is one behind OSU at 898. In 129 seasons, Ohio State is 899-324-53.

    ■ Rutgers beat Texas State 35-7 last week, limiting the Bobcats to 1 of 13 on third-down conversions. Ohio State will present a steep challenge this week after the Buckeyes tallied 721 yards of offense — the second-highest total in program history — in a 77-31 win against Oregon State.
