Ottawa County Bowersox concert canceled
4/12/2011A scheduling conflict forced the cancellation of Crystal Bowersox’s July 9 concert at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds.
John Overmyer, treasurer of the Ottawa County Agricultural Society, said he was informed Tuesday morning that the show would not take place and that he and other fair board members were working with promoters to find a new date.
A statement issued by her representatives at Sony Music out of New York hinted that the Elliston, Ohio, native will be returning to northwest Ohio this summer.
“Due to scheduling conflicts, Crystal Bowersox will not be performing at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds on July 9. Crystal looks forward to being back in the area later in the year,” the statement said.
Tickets never had gone on sale for the show.
Bowersox has a pair of concerts set in Ohio next week, appearing in Springfield on Tuesday and Newark on Thursday.
She was an American Idol runner-up in 2010 and is beginning to tour to support her "Farmer's Daughter" album.
