DETROIT — Authorities say the home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra has been damaged in a gas explosion. No injuries were reported.

The blast happened Sunday morning at Orchestra Hall, part of the Max Fisher Music Center in Detroit's cultural center just north of downtown. The symphony says the extent of the damage isn't immediately known.

WWJ-AM says DTE Energy Co. is investigating the explosion and electrical power is being cut off to the area so repairs can proceed.

The symphony says it's moving Sunday's Sphinx15 Finals Competition to Hill Auditorium at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. It's a talent competition for young black and Latino string musicians and will start at 2 p.m.
