Party in your PJs Saturday at the Lupus Foundation of America Greater Ohio Chapter's first-ever Pajama Jam. The fun party will be a benefit for the chapter, which provides support programs and education to lupus patients and their families. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will go toward national lupus research initiatives. There will be food, music, pampering, and a variety of other activities. Foundation officials will be on hand to speak with guests who want to talk about lupus. The party begins at 4:30 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg. Registration is $50 and can be paid at the door or in advance by calling 1-888-NO-LUPUS (1-888-665-8787).

● Comedian Kier Spates, better known as Junior on the Steve Harvey Morning Show, will perform five shows this weekend at the Toledo Funny Bone. Junior, who is big on the college campus comedy scene, also has made a number of appearances on shows such as BET's Comic View and in films including Barbershop Blues. On the Steve Harvey radio show, he delivers funny and off-beat tips of the day. Show times at the Funny Bone are 7:30 tonight, 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, and 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $18 and $23 and can be purchased at the box office or funnybonecentral.com.

Briefcases, rattlesnakes, and the psychosexual are the subjects of dozens of films screened in the University of Toledo's Aspiring Filmmakers' Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Center for Performing Arts on main campus. Films were selected by an eight-member panel, and range in length from less than one minute to nearly 10 minutes. Tickets are $5; $3 for students and people 60 and older.

The meeting is from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sylvania Branch Library. Zettel won the 2010 Philip K. Dick Award for her novel Bitter Angels. The forum meets monthly to discuss everything from crafting dialogue to copyright law and freelance writing. Membership is $15 a year for students with a valid ID and $25 for all others.
