Ohio artists featured at Schedel

Schedel Arboretum and Gardens, 19255 West Portage River South Rd., Elmore, Ohio, presents A Salute to Ohio Artists Part II: In Celebration of the Ohio Bicentennial, now through Oct. 1. Featured in the garden's Trellis Gallery will be works by Pete Beckmann, Carol Block, Walter Chapman, Joe Ann Cousino, Maureen Kirwen Huffman, Thomas Hilty, the late Dominick Labino, and the late Dorothy Bryan. Garden hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The Trellis Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and by appointment. Cost: $6. The Art Concept Gallery, located inside Reve salon, 5633 North Main St., Sylvania, presents Summertime, on view now through Sept. 12. Featured artists are Jerry Runkle, Scott Nine, Martin Reichenthal, and Richard Reed, with a collection of works by Toledo architect John Luscombe. Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The Museum Store Westgate, 3301 W. Central Ave., offers an exhibition featuring photographic artist Robert Colgan of Columbus, now through Friday. Store hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Information: 419-473-1134.

Spectrum Gallery at the Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr., announced the winners of its 2003 Abstract Show: John Hejna, best of show; Nancy Mistovich, first place; Nicole Myers, second place; Paul Kolasinski, third place. Honorable mentions went to Patricia Negrich and Gail Sponseller. Flatlanders Art Gallery in Blissfield, Mich., presents the 2003 Zonta Art Gala, a benefit auction of paintings and other artworks to support the Catherine Cobb Domestic Violence Shelter, and other services for women in Adrian, Mich. The Zonta club of Adrian is host. Featured artists include Jim Lutomski, Leslie Adams, Donna D'Aquino, Tom Rudd and Margo McCafferty, and Ken Thompson.
