Watercolor Society presents spring exhibition

The Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society presents its annual spring exhibition through May in the Owens-Illinois South Gallery in One SeaGate. Winners are Theodore Vassar, best of show; David Mack, first; Walter Chapman, second; Robert Martin, third, and Margie Carlile and Dannica Walker, honorable mentions.

Faculty and alumni of Davis College, 4747 Monroe St., are displaying their art in the atrium of the Monroe Street building. Hours for the show, which runs through Friday, are 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. today-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

The Toledo Artists' Club in Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr., has opened its Modern, Surrealistic, and Abstract Show. Awards for the show, which runs through May 20, went to Carol Lee Rice, best of show; Dianne Trabbic, first; Trudy Kahn, second; Timothy J. Tyree, third, and Ted Vassar and Marguerite Hall, honorable mentions. Club hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Glass Club of Toledo has scheduled a meeting at 7:30 tonight in the Village Glass Studio, 5703 Main St., Sylvania. Mike Wallace will demonstrate glass-blowing techniques. The public is welcome to attend.

Toledo Museum of Art, 2445 Monroe St., has scheduled a Make a Mobile workship with Tedd McDonah from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and May 21. Participants will create mobile structures based on the legacy of Alexander Calder. No special skills are required and all materials will be provided. Cost: $50 for members, $59 for nonmembers.
