UT featuring quilt show

The Catherine S. Eberly Center for Women, Tucker Hall 0168, on the campus of the University of Toledo, presents The Quotidian Quilt Guild Exhibition, a display of small quilts by Quotidian members Joyce Dauer, Cheryl Darr, Bernice LaPlantz, Madelyn Botek, Jill Holt, Joanna Suter, and Gretchen Schultz. An opening reception is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Eberly Center, where the exhibit runs through Dec. 9. Information: 419-530-8570.

Bowling Green State University's Fine Arts Center Galleries presents as part of its 26th annual New Music & Art Festival the exhibition DNA (do not assume ...). Works in the exhibit examine the controversial issues of DNA, from ownership, personal privacy, and genetic discrimination. Artists include Suzanne Anker, Larry Miller, Paul Vanouse, Amy M. Toledo artist Mary Jane Erard has been accepted to exhibit in the 37th View Point 2005 National Juried Art Exhibition at the Cincinnati Art Club, 1021 Parkside Place, Cincinnati. The exhibition, on view from Nov. 4 to 20, comprises works from 70 artists. A gala reception and awards ceremony is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 4. Exhibition hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Erard, a landscape artist who works in pastel, is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America and will also exhibit in December at the Marziart Internationale Galerie in Hamburg, Germany.
