Space 237 hosts holiday gala

Space 237 at 237 North Michigan St., presents its Holiday Art Gala, an exhibition of unique gifts made by artists, Nov. 19 through Dec. 30. An opening reception is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 19. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Information: 419-255-5117.

All Saints Lutheran Church, 5445 Heatherdowns Blvd., is hosting a quilt show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday. The event includes a crafts show and sale, a Christmas wall-hanging raffle, and baked goods.

Spectrum Friends of Fine Art presents the works of artist Kate Argow through November in its gallery in Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Dr. Argow will present jewelry of clay, glass beads, and natural stone and knitted handbags with feathers. The American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, presents intaglio prints by Keiichi Hayano on view through November. The artist was reared in Japan and has lived and worked in Canada since 1975. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Michigan. Hayano, who works in two-dimensional design and optical illusion, often combines traditional Japanese motif with bold contemporary compositions. The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo is throwing an Ohio State University vs. University of Michigan tailgate party from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Nov. 18 in Margarita Rocks, 505 Jefferson Ave. Entertainment includes the acoustic sounds of Johnny Rodriguez, Bob and Frankie May, Kyle White, John Barlie, Jeff Stewart, and members of the Simon Carter Band.
