Schedel Gardens to open annual sculpture exhibit
4/27/2006The Schedel Arboretum and Gardens in Elmore will open its sixth annual Sculpture in the Gardens exhibit Tuesday, featuring the bronzes of Tuck Langland. The exhibit runs through October at 19255 West Portage River South Rd., where admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $6 for children. Garden hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Information: 419-862-3182.
Kismet Gallery, 6819 West Central Ave., will feature furniture artist and illustrator Erica Pitkin, from noon to 3 p.m. May 7. Pitkin will sign copies of her children's book, Shapesville, and will have furniture items on display. Information: 419-841-9682.
Joan Bonnette, Phil Hazard, David Herzig, Janet McCarren, and others will have works on display in the exhibition Flower Power, a tribute to spring, from May 6-31 in the American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania. The 30th annual Sauder Village Quilt Fair will take place Tuesday through May 7 in Founders Hall of the village, 22611 State Rt. 2, Archbold. The fair will feature quilts from throughout the Midwest, exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and lectures with guest Jane Townswick. Quilting for Black Swamp, featuring more than two dozen handcrafted quilts and wall hangings donated to the Sunshine Children's Home and the Mennonite Central Committee, will open May 9 and run through the month, at the Owens-Illinois Gallery, 1 Seagate. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
