Fall term student work is on display at musem

The School of Art and Design at the Toledo Museum of Art is hosting its fall term Student Art Exhibit in the Community Gallery of the museum, 2445 Monroe St., through Jan. 14. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Information: 419-255-8000.

The winners of the Art in TARTA/Glass Poetry 2006 competition are: Sara Drake, Megan Wawrzyniak, and Micah Washington, Young Artists at Work/Glass Poetry first award; Jeff Artz, General Public Design Competition first award; and Shirley Kirshner, General Public Poetry Competition first award.

Graphic designs from Bowling Green State University School of Art students Brian Watterson, Tyler Fortney, and Lindsay Gadberry will be featured as TARTA bus wraps. The exhibition will run through Dec. 22 at the Parkwood Gallery 1838 Parkwood Ave. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Information: 419-254-2787.

Hudson Gallery, 5645 North Main St., Sylvania, is hosting the exhibit "A Few of My Favorite Things," featuring local and national artists in various media, through Jan. 30. Artisan-made gifts in glass, pottery, wood , and jewelry will also be on display in the middle gallery. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Professional photographer Boyd Hambleton will conduct a workshop on how to get professional-looking shots with digital cameras at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd. The workshop fee is $20 and seating is limited.
