BGSU showcases arts

ArtsX, an energetic celebration showcasing many visual and performing arts, will be held from 6 to 10 tomorrow night in the Fine Arts Center at Bowling Green State University.

The free event includes musical and theatrical performances, exhibits, and demonstrations. Student work will be available for purchase.

The Faculty/Staff Exhibition will open with a reception in the Bryan Art Gallery while in the adjacent foyer, six quartets and ensembles from the College of Musical Arts will perform throughout the evening.

Groups from the Department of Theatre and Film will present half-hour performances in Room 2000. In Room 206, the Creative Writing Club will hold a writing contest in response to a piece of art.

Clubs and organizations, ranging from the Art History Association to the University Film Organization (UFO), will host activities throughout the building. The Art History group plans a trivia game show in the hallway outside Room 115, while UFO will showcase student films in Room 204.

Jewelry crafted by members of the Student Metal Arts Club will be for sale in Room 101.

The Juggling Club will perform. The Comic Book Club will have an interactive drawing event across from Rooms 201 and 203.

The Sculpture Club will begin a stone-carving demonstration at 5 p.m. and will do a bronze pour at 7 p.m. The Computer Art Club will demonstrate their experiments with digital origami. And the Student Art Glass Association will present ongoing demos in Rooms 1200 and 1206.
