Exhibit at MMK Gallery will benefit area art organizations

WIN/WIN, an exhibit and fund-raiser at the MMK Gallery, 20 North St. Clair St., will be 7 to 11 p.m. May 9. All art will be sold by silent auction and proceeds will be split between the artists and the Toledo Federation of Art Societies. The federation is made up of 21 art and cultural groups. Music will be provided by Mojoe Boes and his Noble Jones, and refreshments will be available. Information: www.toledoareaartists.org.

SkyScapes2, the cloud paintings of Lanna Pendleton Hall, will open with a 4 to 6 p.m. reception Saturday and continue through June 8 in the American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania. Information: 419-882-8949.

Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., is the last of three days for Artomatic 419!, featuring the creations of 200 emerging and seasoned artists. The free exhibit, which includes entertainment, is in a 19,000-square-foot building at 201 Morris St. in Toledo's Warehouse District near the Oliver House. A new University of Toledo/Toledo Museum of Art Internship Fund will support students during semester-long professional projects at the museum. The internships will be open to students in studio art, art history, and art education programs and are slated to begin in the fall. Interns will work with curators to do jobs such as unpacking glass objects for display and helping digitize the museum's collection of 300,000 photographic slides. Supporting the fund are Tom and Betsy Brady and another couple who requested anonymity.

Folk and blues performed by Adam SoRelle and photos of Central Asia and Uzbekistan by Dorothy Ann Strange are featured tomorrow evening at Geogette's Grounds & Gifts, 311 Conant St., in Maumee. Strange's exhibit continues through May 31.

Also, the shop will offer free coffee from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 9 as part of World Fair Trade Day.

Benches designed by artists and organizations will be displayed throughout Sylvania from May 3 to 17. The debut of Sittin' Pretty in Sylvania will be 4 to 8 p.m. May 7 at the Downtown Delights event, and again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 at the Sylvania Sprouts Flower Show on Maplewood Street. Benches will eventually be placed in locations around Sylvania and Sylvania Township.

An exhibit of Dan Hernandez's art will open with a 6 to 8 p.m. reception May 7 in the Madhouse Gallery, 1215 Jackson St., continuing through June 12. Information: 419-873-0538 and madmadmad.com/gallery.

Three Minutes, an exhibit of photographs by Seder Burns, continues through Sunday in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery at the Fine Arts Center of Bowling Green State University. Information: www.sederburns.com.

Artwalk is 5 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in downtown Findlay. The Findlay Art League's awards for its May Show will be presented at 7 p.m. in its office at 117 West Crawford St. Upstairs, several artists' studios will be open, as will the shops and cafes of downtown merchants. An exhibit of 32 quilts by Rosanna Williams of Fostoria will be hung at Wesley Memorial Gallery from May 5 to June 29. Williams designs some of her quilts using a computer and has done both hand and machine quilting. An open house will be 2 to 4 p.m. June 14.
