Award-winning glass artist showcased at Glass Pavilion

Laura Donefer will discuss her 26 years of creating art glass in a humorous talk she calls Hot Flash: Glass After 50, at 6 p.m. May 21 in the Toledo Museum of Art's Glass Pavilion. Following the talk, she will demonstrate her glassmaking techniques from 7 to 10 p.m. in the hot shop. Donefer, of Ontario, is the museum's 2010 artist-in-residence. She was honored with the Glass Art Society's 2008 Lifetime Membership Award.

Harry Daugherty, of Waterville, has a display of watercolors at the Huntington National Bank, 1001 Sandusky Ave. in Perrysburg through June 12. He employs vivid color in his modernistic contemporary style. The show is coordinated by Prizm Creative Community.

The Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society will open its annual spring show with a 2 to 4 p.m. reception May 23 at Heidelberg College in Arrowhead Park, 1757 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee. The show will continue through June 26.

FINDLAY

The Findlay Art League's May Show will continue through May 29 at the league's gallery, 117 West Crawford St., Findlay. Best of show went to Ron Fox for Pippi, a pencil drawing.

CLEVELAND

A beautiful exhibition of native North American art closes May 30 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Art of the American Indians: The Thaw Collection, includes pieces from all major culture areas of North America. Also closing May 30 is a display of photographs of American Indians by Edward S. Curtis and Zig Jackson.
