Haviland Collectors conference includes workshops, displays

Haviland Collectors International Foundation, an organization dedicated to porcelain and pottery produced by the Haviland families in France and America, will hold its annual conference in Toledo today through Sunday at the Hilton Toledo hotel, 3100 Glendale Ave. The event includes workshops and presentations, “show-and-tells,” book sales, auctions, displays, and a sale on Sunday. The Juneteenth Celebration will be noon to 6 p.m. June 19 at the Toledo Museum of Art. Spearheaded by the museum's Committee for Cultural Diversity, it will include entertainment, gallery tours, food inspired by African-American flavors, Civil War reenactments, and many hands-on activities. For the Love of Art Inc. presents its 15th year of summer workshops for students in grades K-6 through August. Each week, participants explore a different media or technique, led by degreed artist/teachers. Toledo Emerges will feature 11 local artists June 14 through July 29, with a 6 to 8 p.m. reception June 17, in the Terhune Gallery at the Center for Fine and Performing Art at Owens Community College.
