Photographs of cultural landscapes by Jeff Brouws are exhibited through Oct. 29 in the Terhune Gallery at Owens Community College. Expect to see images of strip malls, homogenized housing tracts, fast-food chains, abandoned manufacturing sites, low-income housing, and other commercial ruins. The gallery is in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts.

Opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday for an exhibit of paintings by Ohio Watercolor Society members and associates in the American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave. in Sylvania, through Oct. 28. Information: 419-882-8949.

Call for artists: Oct. 17 is the deadline for people interested in exhibiting their work. The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo is accepting submissions for the upcoming season in the Parkwood Gallery, adjacent to its offices at 1838 Parkwood Ave. A prospectus can be downloaded at acgt.org or picked up at the office. A new collection of 100 works in a variety of media by 28 people will be on view Sept. 30 through Jan. 15 in Sam B's Restaurant in Bowling Green. Original poetry inspired by the hieroglyphs of ancient Egypt will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Classic Court of the Toledo Museum of Art.

Meet Me at TMA, a short program for people who have mild memory loss and their caregivers, will meet at the museum at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1. The works of 20 sculptors are displayed in Millennium Sculpture: Concept, Craft, Tradition, and Trends in American Sculpture, opening Sept. 30 in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery at Bowling Green State University, and continuing through Nov. 19. Information: 419-372-8525.

Multiple Impressions: Contemporary Chinese Woodblock Prints continues through Oct. 23 in the University of Michigan Museum of Art. Displayed are 114 works by 41 printmakers from contemporary China, showcasing their innovations in technique and conception. The works underscore the printmakers' search for a new visual language and subject matter, in competition with oil and ink-and-brush painters on the one hand and mass-produced print culture on the other. It was organized by UMMA with the assistance of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. The museum is at 525 South State St., Ann Arbor. Information: umma.umich.edu.
