Photos on exhibit at Owens' gallery

Work by Jeff Brouws, including the diptych photography 'LTV Steel, Cleveland,' is being featured at Owens.

Photographs of cultural landscapes by Jeff Brouws are exhibited through Oct. 29 in the Terhune Gallery at Owens Community College. Expect to see images of strip malls, homogenized housing tracts, fast-food chains, abandoned manufacturing sites, low-income housing, and other commercial ruins. The gallery is in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts.

Opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday for an exhibit of paintings by Ohio Watercolor Society members and associates in the American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave. in Sylvania, through Oct. 28. Information: 419-882-8949.

Meet Me at TMA, a short program for people who have mild memory loss and their caregivers, will meet at the museum at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Multiple Impressions: Contemporary Chinese Woodblock Prints continues through Oct. 23 in the University of Michigan Museum of Art. Displayed are 114 works by 41 printmakers from contemporary China, showcasing their innovations in technique and conception. The works underscore the printmakers' search for a new visual language and subject matter, in competition with oil and ink-and-brush painters on the one hand and mass-produced print culture on the other. It was organized by UMMA with the assistance of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. The museum is at 525 South State St., Ann Arbor. Information: umma.umich.edu.
