Tonight’s Art Walk will be 6 to 9 p.m. in the Warehouse District, UpTown, and other downtown-area neighborhoods, when two dozen galleries, studios, and cafes will be open. A new addition will be free guided tours at 6:15 and 7:30 p.m., for which people should meet at the Art Walk information table at the corner of South St. Clair and Lafayette streets. The hour-long tours will visit seven venues along Huron, Erie, and Michigan streets including Gathered Art Studios, Hannon’s Block, Continental Office Environments, Launch Pad Cooperative, Cancer Connection of NW Ohio, B-Bop Records, and the Davis Building Gallery. “I decided I wanted to highlight that middle chunk of venues,” said Sarah Yarrish, assistant coordinator of Art Walk. That includes shops that are a few blocks from well-established St. Clair Street, she said. To see a map of all participating locations, go to TheArtsCommission.org/Programs/Art-Walk. The final Art Walk this year will be Sept. 12. Information: 419-254-2787.

Opening with a 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 16 reception will be OgallalaLand, photography by Dianna Lust, in LeSo Gallery, 1527 Starr Ave. Lust blurs the lines between documentary, activism, and landscape photography, featuring crisp images that illustrate the character of the land as well as the Ogallala aquifer 400 feet underneath it, spanning Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. This underground body of water has been declining because of pumping for the last 60 years. Artifacts from Lust’s western trips will accompany photographs. The exhibition will close Aug. 30 with a 7 to 9 p.m. reception and artist talk. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Information: www.LeSoGallery.com.

The 17th annual rug-hooking week at Sauder Village will be Aug. 14-17 when 400 beautiful rugs will be displayed in Founder’s Hall. The exhibit will show a variety of colors, patterns, sizes, and designs depicting people and places, animals, geometrics, florals, and mixed media. American Sewn Rugs is a collection of early-American needlework created as an art form in New England in the late 1700s. A highlight will be the award winners from Rug Hooking Magazine’s Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs XXIII, including some of the best rugs made by hookers around the world. Workshops, demonstrations, and talks will be offered and visitors may purchase supplies, kits, and tools. Admission is $10, which does not include admission to the Historic Village. Information: www.saudervillage.org and 800-590-9755.
