Weekend long doll and bear show in Archbold

Doll and teddy bear enthusiasts from throughout the region will gather in Archbold this weekend to celebrate the 30th annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show at Sauder Village. With exhibitors from throughout the midwest, special guest artist and doll maker Pat Gazie, and many doll-themed workshops and activities there will be plenty for guests to enjoy. More than 100 tables will be set up to showcase dolls and bears. Guests can shop and enjoy a variety of items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears and modern collectibles. Also available will be accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books, and patterns. The Doll Show and Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. "Show-Only" admission is $7. Information: saudervillage.org.

Racers in the Women's Distance Festival will take off at 8 a.m. Saturday at Fallen Timbers near Rave Motion Pictures, for an event that combines walking/running and fund-raising. The three-part event will kick off with a 5k run for women and girls. At 9 a.m. the "walk a mile in her shoes" race will begin for both men and women. The 100 Meter Heels Race is sure to be exciting, as men and women race each other wearing high-heeled shoes. Start time is 9:30 a.m. Registration can be done online or on-site at 7 a.m. and entry fees are $25 for a single event and $45 for a bundle. Registration for children age 12 and younger is $5. Registration includes a T-shirt and goody bag. Proceeds for the races will benefit Girls on the Run, Toledo Roadrunners and Women's Entrepreneurial Network (WEN). Nearly 300 old-school rides will be on display Saturday for the annual Cruise by the River Classic Car Show in downtown historic Perrysburg. Roads between Louisiana Avenue and Front Street will be closed to through traffic and filled with car lovers trying to get an up close look at the classic, antique and specialty vehicles on display. The show is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free.
