MORAINE, Ohio General Motors Corp. s sport utility assembly plant in this Dayton suburb will close at the end of the 2010 model year, which typically would occur sometime in the middle of 2010, the plant manager says.
And it could be sooner, based on what the market dictates, and right now the market is very difficult, Steve Brock said.
The plant, which assembles the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Saab 9-7X SUVs had about 4,100 employees until mid-2006, when the third shift was eliminated. It now employs 2,000.
