French auto parts maker Faurecia Interior Systems Inc., which manufactures parts for Toledo-made Chrysler LLC vehicles, has filed a $110 million lawsuit in Michigan against the financially troubled automaker in a dispute that involves the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro.

The parts manufacturer alleges in the lawsuit that Chrysler failed to fully reimburse Faurecia for up-front costs such as engineering and research and development to supply its parts.

Faurecia has taken huge liberties in this lawsuit, grossly overstating alleged damages and totally absolving itself of any assumption of risk, contrary to our supply agreements with the company, Chrysler spokesman Mike Palese said.
