AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — An employee of Chrysler Group LLC’s social media agency has been fired after it was discovered the person posted an obscene tweet on the Chrysler brand’s official account.

The tweet read: “I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the (hash)motorcity and yet no one here knows how to (expletive) drive.”

The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and WXYZ-TV report the message was deleted from the account.

The Auburn Hills-based automaker posted to its blog later Wednesday apologizing for the actions of the New Media Strategies employee.

Chrysler says it doesn’t “tolerate inappropriate language or behavior.”
