Honda says production to be nearly 100% in Aug.

Honda Motor Co. said North American production will return to 100 percent in August for all models except Civic small cars as parts supplies rebound after the record earthquake in March in Japan.

Production of the 2012 Civic, which went on sale in April, will be at about 50 percent because of limited supplies of some parts, Honda said. Japan’s third-largest automaker has raced to restore output to normal since the quake.

Honda last week told dealers its inventory would begin rising in July, and Toyota said production can return to at least 70 percent of prequake levels in June.
