Honda has slipped from the top five in a report on owner loyalty, the first time that has happened since the quarterly study began two years ago.

Hyundai had the highest loyalty, according to the Kelley Blue Book report, followed by Toyota, Subaru, Kia, and Ford. Honda was sixth. The results are based on customers’ searches on KBB.com from July to September. Honda is the only foreign automaker making vehicles in Ohio.

The report is based on customers’ visits to KBB.com, where consumers list the vehicle they intend to trade in and select the brands they’re considering for their next car. Of the customers trading in a Hyundai, 48 percent considered a Hyundai for their next vehicle.
