140,000 Focus compacts recalled by Ford Motor

DETROIT — Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 140,000 Focus compact cars because a seal in the passenger-side windshield wiper motor may be missing, which could cause the wiper to fail.

The cars were built from Aug. 1, 2010 through Oct. 18 of last year.

Ford said it has no reports of crashes or injuries from the problem.
