There will be no summer shutdown for the Jeep Wrangler line at Chrysler’s Toledo Assembly complex this year, a Chrysler spokesman said today.

Chrysler Group has had a hot selling hand of late, and Wrangler sales have been especially strong, up more than 30 percent compared to last year. To help meet that demand, the automaker has decided to keep the plant running all summer. Typically, plants are shut down for two weeks around the July 4 holiday for maintenance and updates.

Chrysler spokesman Jodi Tinson said workers were informed of the decision today.

The Liberty line will shut down the weeks of July 2 and July 9.
