DETROIT -- Chrysler Group LLC is considering putting nearly $198 million into its Mack Avenue I engine plant in Detroit, according to the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press. They said that move could create up to 250 jobs.

The automaker said it would use the money to add production of its Pentastar V-6 engine, which is used in several Chrysler vehicles including the Toledo-built Jeep Wrangler. The plant currently produces other engines.
