Kuka Systems has recognized its Toledo Production Operations as the group's best-performing plant for a second time in five years. A spokesman for German-based Kuka said the group has six U.S. facilities including Toledo.

The plant is one of the Jeep Wrangler suppliers on site at Chrysler Group LLC's Toledo Assembly complex.

Jake Ladouceur, managing director of Kuka Toledo, said in a written statement, "The work force, both hourly and salaried, in the greater Toledo area have a great work ethic and combined with their pride and spirit, the iconic vehicle is built second to none."

Kuka opened its Stickney Avenue plant in 2006 to build bodies for Jeep Wranglers. Final assembly of the vehicles is done by Chrysler.
