Toledo Cherokee job listing lasts about hour

5/8/2013

Chrysler Group LLC said the online job listing it opened for assembly line workers at the Toledo Assembly Complex was up for less than an hour Tuesday.

The automaker is still working to fill the 1,105 new positions that will come to the plant later this year as it adds a second shift of production for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Chrysler took a first batch of applications last summer, but officials said Monday they wanted to get a few more people in the hiring pool before completing their hiring.

While Chrysler did not say the number of new applicants it sought Tuesday, it collected its goal just 50 minutes after the listing was posted.
