Yark group enjoys
 record sales in July

Toledo’s Yark Automotive Group sold more cars in July than any month in its 32-year history, and its executives say the firm is headed for a second- straight record year.

The dealership said it sold 883 new and used vehicles last month. The previous best was 830 vehicles in March, 2012. Yark has had five record months this year and is on pace to sell more vehicles than last year.

General Manager Doug Kearns said the jump in sales suggests an improving economy in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. He expects auto sales to remain strong.

“There is a pent-up demand for vehicles that has been held since the recession in 2008,” Mr. Kearns said. “There is a definite need for people to purchase replacement vehicles or to simply make upgrades.”
