Chrysler Group LLC said this morning it sold 10,169 of the Toledo-built Jeep Cherokee last month to help push the brand to its best-ever November sales.

November was the first full month for Cherokee sales. The Toledo-build Wrangler added 11,753 sales for Jeep on the company's way to 45,415 units.

"Our all-new Jeep Cherokee is off to a terrific start ...  Our launch emphasis on Jeep Cherokee quality is now being rewarded with brisk sales and helping Chrysler Group achieve our 44th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales.

Chrysler Group reported total November sales of 142,275, up 16 percent from last year and the company's best November since 2007.

Meanwhile, Ford reported its best November since 2004, with 190,449 sales in the month. Full-size trucks continue to propel Ford's gains. The company said November was the seventh straight month that sales of its F-series trucks topped 60,000 units.

All major automakers are expected to report November sales today.
