COLUMBUS -- After a solid first half, Notre Dame came out flat in the third quarter of Friday night’s Division I girls state basketball semifinal against top-ranked Cincinnati Princeton.

That eight-minute stretch in which they were outscored 12-5 proved costly to the seventh-ranked Eagles, who fell 60-52 to Princeton at the Schottenstein Center.

The Vikings (27-2) were led 2014 Ohio Miss Basketball Kelsey Mitchell, who had 23 points, and teammate Carlie Pogue added 18 points.

Notre Dame (24-4) got 21points from Tierra Floyd, and 16 points from her junior teammate Kaayla McIntyre.

The Eagles, who were tied 33-33 with the Vikings at halftime, have lost three straight years in the D-I semifinals.

Princeton will play in today’s 8:30 p.m. championship game against the winner of Friday night’s second semifinal between North Canton Hoover (25-2) and Dublin Coffman (22-6).
