Notre Dame rising senior standout Tierra Floyd has verbally committed to Xavier University to continue her basketball career.

Floyd, a 6-foot-2 wing, chose the Musketeers over Ohio State, Indiana, Virginia, and Dayton, according to Notre Dame coach Travis Galloway.

Part of Eagles teams that have reached three straight Division I state semifinals, Floyd averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.6 steals as a junior. The 2014 All-Blade girls player of the year, Floyd was also named to the All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference, Northwest Ohio all-district, and All-Ohio first teams. This past season she helped Notre Dame to a 24-4 record, and a third consecutive TRAC championship.

In a state semifinal duel with 2014 Ohio Ms. Basketball Kelsey Mitchell in the state semifinals, Floyd scored 21 points in a 60-52 loss to top-ranked eventual state champion Cincinnati Princeton.

During Floyd's three seasons on the Eagles' varsity, Notre Dame has posted a 71-13 overall record.
