City League: Scott opens with win over Fostoria

Genoa routs Waite; Eastwood rips Start

The Bulldogs had Kevin Banks rush for 160 yards on 11 carries, including a 69-yard touchdown scamper, to win their opener Friday night in the game played at Start.

Terrance Jones totaled 95 yards on the ground for Scott, including a 50-yard TD run, and caught a scoring strike from DeShawn Darden. Darden also ran for a score.

Glenn Joyce had a 55-yard return of a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

The Redmen got an interception return for a TD from Matt Davis, while Chris Walker caught a TD pass from Davis.

Genoa 41, Waite 14

Jake Wojciechowski finished with 138 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries as the Comets pulled away at Waite.

Wojciechowski scored on runs of 14, 17, and 17 yards.

Andrew Belcik added a 75-yard kickoff return and a 40-yard run for scores. Genoa’s other TD came on a 30-yard pass from Kyle Edwards to Noah Goodrich.

Waite’s Jeremy Pratt ran for 140 yards on 22 carries, which included a seven-yard touchdown. Nate Houle scored on a two-yard run.

Eastwood 42, Start 7

PEMBERVILLE — Devin Snowden ran 18 times for 122 yards and touchdowns from 2, 6, and 13 yards out, leading the home blowout.

Brennan Seifert added 10 carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles, covering four and nine yards. Eli Brown added eight carries, 51 yards, and scored on a 17-yard run.

Michael Williams scored the lone TD for the Spartans on a 12-yard pass from Brandon Winters, who completed 10 of 18 passes for 111 yards.

Eastwood outgained the Spartans 327-168 in total yardage.
