BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green State University football coach Urban Meyer has a five-year contract that calls for him to be paid $125,000 per year in base salary, $20,000 in additional income for appearances on university radio and TV broadcasts and $5,000 in compensation for agreements the university enters into with athletic shoe, equipment and apparel manufacturers.

There are incentive clauses that would pay Meyer an additional $2,000 in each case if he were to lead the Falcons to the MAC East Division title, take them to a bowl game, or achieve a 70 percent or greater graduation rate. Meyer will receive a $2,000 bonus if BG averages more than 15,000 in attendance, and an additional $2,000 if that average exceeds 20,000.

Meyer's contract also contains a clause that calls for an annual review of his compensation package, and that it shall be increased as necessary to keep him in the top half of MAC coaches in total compensation.
