BOWLING GREEN - Senior Francine Miller has been granted an extra year of eligibility to play for Bowling Green State University's women's basketball team.

The Mid-American Conference has approved her appeal for a medical hardship.

“She is one of the best players in program history, and we look forward to sending her out on a good note,” said BG coach Curt Miller.

Miller played in just four of the Falcons' 28 games last season. She scored 26 points in the season-opening win at Youngstown State before suffering a knee injury in a game against Detroit.

BG finished 9-19 overall and fourth in the MAC East at 6-10.

Miller was an All-MAC second-team selection her junior year after earning first-team honors as a sophomore. She missed five games her junior season because of injury.

She has 1,149 points, 13th best in school history.
