12/7/2002

  • Time: 2 p.m.

  • Radio: 96.7, 88.1

  • Records: BG is 2-1; Northwestern is 3-2.

  • Last game: BG beat Buffalo 76-59; Northwestern lost to North Carolina State 73-49.

  • Series: BG leads 1-0

  • Outlook: The Falcons were outstanding on defense in the win over Buffalo, keeping the Bulls from establishing their offensive sets for most of the night. Junior Kevin Netter exploded for a career-high 36. Coach Dan Dakich was down to eight players heading into the upcoming week-long road swing, which includes games at Northwestern, Michigan and Alabama. It looks like the Falcons have lost three players in the past month. Guard Kris Wilson dropped out of school for this semester and took a leave from the team for personal reasons, while forward Germain Fitch tore up his knee less than a week ago and is lost for the season. Forward Josh Almanson, the team's most experienced player, has inflamation in his ankle and his availability in the near future is doubtful. Dakich added football players Cole Magner (6-2) and Will Myles (5-11) to his roster after working them out with the team on Thursday and the two will make the trip to Northwestern.
