BG's Miller receives extension

BOWLING GREEN - Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Curt Miller received a five-year contract extension yesterday, at an annual base salary of $102,000.

"We are pleased to reach this agreement with coach Miller," BG athletic director Paul Krebs said. "He is an outstanding, energetic individual and coach, and the university is excited about the direction of the women's basketball program."

Miller has a three-year record of 42-45 at the school, including last year's 21-10 season. A year ago the Falcons were 11-5 in Mid-American Conference play and reached the MAC tournament final.

"The coaching profession, by nature, is transient and a little unstable, so to receive a five-year guaranteed contract gives myself and the program a tremendous amount of stability," Miller said.

Miller and the Falcons will begin practicing Saturday in preparation for the season opener Nov. 12 at Ohio State in the Women's Preseason NIT.
