Bowling Green joins the rest of the college basketball world today in starting official practices in preparation for the 2004-05 season. The BG women will hold a closed practice at 9 a.m., with the men following with a closed practice at noon, both in Anderson Arena.

Toledo got a jump on the Falcons by holding a "Midnight Madness" practice for its men's and women's teams last night.

The Rocket men and women will play host to back-to-back exhibition games at Savage Hall on Nov. 14. The women will meet the Ohio All-Stars at 2 p.m., followed by the men's exhibition against Wayne State at 4:30 p.m.

Both teams then will open their seasons the following Friday. The men will play at Vanderbilt, while the Rocket women will play host to Cincinnati at 7 p.m.

The Bowling Green men have not scheduled an exhibition game, instead opting for a pair of closed scrimmages at Ohio State and at Duquesne. The Falcons will open the season at DePaul on Nov. 20.

The BG women will play the Premier All-Stars in an exhibition at Anderson Arena on Nov. 8 starting at 7 p.m. The Falcons will open the season at Ohio State in the preseason Women's NIT the following Friday at 7 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center.
