BG women hang tough, but can't top Duquesne

PITTSBURGH - Ali Mann scored 23 points, but it wasn't enough as the Bowling Green State University women's basketball team lost to Duquesne 68-63 last night at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Both teams are 1-2.

Duquesne led 34-32 at halftime, and Bowling Green hung close the entire second half but couldn't get over the hump.

Loui Hall had 20 points for Duquesne.

Mann scored 19 of her 23 points in the second half for the Falcons.

Liz Honneger led Bowling Green with 13 rebounds. The Falcons were outrebounded 52-38. Maria Stankevich had 11 rebounds and Nicole Sinclair 10 for Duquesne.

The Falcons shot only 30.9 percent from the field, including just 5 of 22 (22.7 percent) from 3-point range.

The Falcons return to action Tuesday against Youngstown State.
