Falcons women 'post' tourney win

ITHACA, N.Y. - Bowling Green State University's post players accounted for 42 of the Falcons' points in a 74-60 victory over Florida Gulf Coast University in the Cornell Classic.

The Falcons perfect overall record remains intact at 5-0 while the Eagles, a first- year Division I representative, fell to 1-3.

Sophomore reserve Tara Breske nearly doubled her previous career-high of nine points, scoring a game-high 16 points for BGSU. Freshman Lauren Prohaska added 1w3.

In fact, coach Curt Miller's bench was responsible for 43 points in the win.

Falcon sophomores Sarah Clapper and Laura Bugher also broke and matched their respective career-highs with eight and seven points.

Throughout the first 20 minutes, the Eagles tested the Falcons, tying the score on four occasions.

Bowling Green held the defending D-II national runner's-up scoreless for the opening 6:50 minutes of the second half and extended a 37-34 halftime lead into double-digits thanks to a 16-4 run against the Eagles.

The Falcons will face Cornell for the tournament championship today at 5 p.m.
